Dean of Alternative Ministerial Education
On January 1, 2005 Carl Cottingham started his service as the first Dean of the Regional Ordination Program, now the Alternative Ministerial Education. He is a recent graduate of the Regional Licensure and Ordination Program and a past president of the American Baptist Churches of the Great Rivers Region.
Carl Cottingham is a retired educator, having worked six years at the high school level and thirty years as head of the Learning Resources Center at John A. Logan College in Carterville IL. He has been active as a Deacon in his home church, and has served churches as interim pastor. Carl has participated in short-term mission projects in Mexico and has lectured at universities in the Peoples Republic of China. Carl and his wife, Nanette have five children and nine grandchildren.
