In the clip above (clip in mp4 | mp3 audio), Dr. Craig Van Gelder, consultant to the process of "Transformed by the Spirit", reflects on the current status of this initiative. Dr. Van Gelder me with the GRR Ministerial Staff on January 10.

It has been six months since the initiative was announced during the 2011 ABCUSA Biennial in Puerto Rico. Since then a "critical mass" of organizational partners - including the Great Rivers Region - have taken steps to join together in this process of discovery and action learning.

Briefly stated: Transformed by the Spirit is the process by which we will prayerfully identify and address challenges facing our churches. Two types of challenges exist: Technical challenges for which existing tools, programs, and training can be identified and employed; and adaptive challenges for which these have not yet been identified nor tools and training developed.
