locally AND globally.
To make a PDF out of a non-pdf document you must first have software installed that will convert the non-pdf computer file to a pdf computer file.
Scanned documents cannot directly be converted to PDF.These must first be processed to convert the file to text. This is called Optical Character Recognition or OCR.
1. Have the document open that you want to convert. (If you have not yet saved it, save it before proceeding to step 2.)
2. Click on the File menu to get the drop down menu.
![]()

3. From the drop down menu, choose "Print"
4. When the Print window is displayed, go to "Choose Printer" and choose the pdf making program that you have installed on your computer.

5. Click on
OK. This will take you to a "Save as" window.

6. Enter the file name of your choice. You may also use the folder window to choose a location other than the one suggested.
7. Click on "save." You now have converted a copy of your original document into a PDF file. (Your original is still present; in fact it is best to keep that one. PDF has many advantages, but you are best able to edit the original document in the program you first created it in.)
