Protect Your Church and All Who Connect
to You
via the Internet
Install all the following 3 types of Security Software
Anti-Virus/Trojan Horses/ etc - To protect your computer from being hurt or hurting others' computers and/or web sites.
Anti-spyware - Prevent people from downloading your private information or tracking where you have been as you surf the net.
Firewall - (DSL, cable, and other "always connected" internet connection mandate the need for this.) Prevent others from running your programs against you, or installing programs on your computer, or stealing information from you.
Practice Good Security
1. Download and Update regularly
2. Download/Install security updates from Microsoft faithfully.
3. Scan for viruses and spamware at least once per week
4. Use at least Windows Firewall. Consider downloading COMODO or purchasing one (or a complete security package) from a vendor listed at right.
5. Do not open e-mail from persons or organizations you don't recognize.
6. If you receive and e-mail from one who is not in the practice of emailing you, don't open it. Instead, open your e-mail program and send that person an e-mail asking if the one you just received actually came from her/him.
7. Don't download any material from a site that you are not 100% sure about.
