Testing Your Posted Video

Find a computer other than the one that you used to compose and upload the video and its web page.

Open the web page that "contains" the video embed or link.

Does it play? Congratulations!

If it does, grab a handheld and get access to a tablet computer. Does the video play on them?

If not, go back and check the links in the code.

Use your web editor or other uploading software to look at the list of files on your web hosting company's listing.

1. Is your video file there?

2. Write down the folder that it is in.

3. Open your web editor then the page that contains the embed and/or link.

4. Does the code have that folder location? If not correct it to make sure that the browser is pointed in the right direction.

If the above check out fine, look at your browser.

5. Does your browser have the ability to play the video? Do you need an add-on/plug-in to be able to play the video?

6. Download and install any that are needed.

7. If you are needing to do this, what about your users? This is the time to think about the video format you chose. If it is not widely compatible go back to your software and produce a streaming video that is.
